After 37 years at BC Alpine I will be leaving my position at the end of August. It has been an honour and a privilege to enjoy a career in the sport I love. Over the years I have been amazed by the passion of our coaches, athletes and volunteers.

Sport depends on the strength of its volunteers and we all know the huge time commitment required in this sport. I would like to sincerely thank every volunteer who has stood on the hill, or in the race office, for their time and dedication and for allowing countless athletes to follow their dreams. Your contributions are simply priceless.

I also want to thank the thousands of coaches I have worked with over the years for their expertise and commitment to our youth. You have led by example, and with skill and persistence have helped develop great skiers and even better people. Your impact lasts a lifetime!

And we couldn't do what we do without the generous support of all our sponsors. Thank you for believing in BC Alpine and helping young people achieve their goals and reach their potential in skiing and in life.

I leave BC Alpine knowing that we will continue to thrive. Our staff are totally committed to making BC Alpine the best provincial sport governing body in the country and I am honoured and humbled to have spent this time with such a dedicated team of individuals.

It has been hard work and a ton of fun! I hope to see you on the slopes and I will be volunteering at as many races as I can.

Thank you all for your support over the years.

Bruce Goldsmid

"Ex" CEO of BC Alpine

P.S. If you can't find me on the snow, you might catch me riding too fast down a hill or floating on a river somewhere :)
